Wecommunity environmental job are super excited to share with you our new Connect 2 Nature project that we’ve managed to secure funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund through our charity the North Devon Environmental Trust. This will be match funded by PowerVault Ltd. The project, which is for 2 years, will connect people with nature in the Parish of Braunton and help secure the financial future of the Braunton Countryside Centre.

The project aims will help to deliver a number of outcomes including raising awareness of the unique wildlife and habitats in Braunton which make up the core of the UNESCO designated Biosphere. Outcomes will also help engage our community and visitors in nature recovery and climate action as well as helping a diverse range of people access natural resources leading to improved health and wellbeing.

Our new project coordinator, Jess Giblett will be responsible for bringing the project aims and ideas to life throughout the two years, by running lots of nature-focused events, activities and workshops that will aim to reach a wide range of audiences and communities within the Parish of Braunton, whilst also collaborating with other like-minded businesses, organisations and individuals.

Join us on Tuesday 6th December at 6:30pm for our project launch at the Countryside Centre to hear all about the new Connect 2 Nature project, how to get involved and ask any questions you may have.

There will be drinks and a buffet reception followed by a presentation about what to expect from the project, and also presentation from guest speaker Yvette Curtis from Wave Wahines, a project partner who will be speaking about equal access to nature.
