Buckland Woods Walk- Spring Walking Festival

Join us on a woodland walk exploring the woodlands of Braunton Parish

Braunton Countryside Centre
24th May

Join the Connect 2 Nature team for a walk exploring Buckland and Knowle Woods and the nature it has to offer.

What to expect

This guided walk will offer you a chance to explore the woodlands that run along the path of the old railway line. There will be plenty to spot and views of the beautiful countryside.

Our route will take us down the Tarka Trail to Buckland Woods, up Route 27 to Nethercott offering lovely views of Knowle and if it’s clear over to Appledore. After a short walk on the country lanes at Nethercott we will reenter the Spreacombe Estate Woods and wind our way back along the river. Finally we will cross over to Corilhead and come back to the Centre through St Brannock’s churchyard.

Please wear study footwear and weather appropriate clothes. We will stop at the top of the hill at the ‘Travellers Rest’ for a drink and snack so please come prepared.
The walk will be approximately 5 miles and will take about 2 hours and will include a steep climb and uneven terrain.
