Join local marine mammal expert Dave Jenkins for this tour of Baggy Point to discover its history and wildlife.
Tickets £5 (plus booking fee)
Baggy Point forms part of the North Devon Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and the Saunton To Baggy Point Coast Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). Rich in wildlife such as sea birds, it is also possible to spot seals, dolphins and porpoise. Its ragged cliffs and caves also hide a wealth of interesting history.
As part of the tour we will also be taking part in National Whale and Dolphin Watch The aim of this event is to give a general “snapshot” of what is in UK coastal waters over a short period of time. As well as gaining valuable research data, we hope this will draw attention to the conservation of our marine environment.
Meeting at the National Trust Car Park we will walk out to Baggy Point where we will meet the event guide. The tour will last around 2 hours. Participants should bring binoculars for wildlife watching if they have them. This tour is unsuitable for younger children.
